Oh, the Christmas season in Miami is like nowhere else in the country: a place where you can do your last-minute shopping in shorts and spend Christmas Day at the beach, if you so desire.

Wild Holidays at Jungle Island
The popular Watson Island attraction is bringing out all of its adorable animals for its Wild Holidays celebration. This season, guests of the park will enjoy daily holiday parades featuring the park’s most beloved animals, arts and crafts activities, scavenger hunts and other festive events. 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail. Santa’s Enchanted Forest
One of Miami’s longest-running holiday traditions is a visit to Santa’s Enchanted Forest down at Tropical Park. The county fair/winter-wonderland is a cornucopia of amusement rides, carnival games, photos with Santa and his helpers for the kids, and some of the most creative fair food you’ll find anywhere (a tip: be SURE to have the funnel cake). 7900 SW 40 Street, Miami; 305-559-9689; santasenchantedforest.com). Seraphic Fire Holiday Concert: On Winter’s Night
The angelic voices of Seraphic Fire sing timeless carols in the absorbing experience of Seraphic Fire’s traditional candlelight Christmas concerts. Surround yourself in the beauty of Gregorian chant, glorious English Christmas carols, and the audience favorite Jesus Christ the Apple Tree, as the ensemble welcomes the season with festive style. Because eight nights of Hanukkah celebrations aren’t enough, the Society of Young Jewish Professionals and JDate annual throw the ultimate singles event on Christmas Eve – this year at LIV nightclub in the famed Fountainbleu Hotel in Miami Beach. Ritz Kids Family Gingerbread House Workshop
Sure, you can pick up a store-bought version to assemble and decorate at home, but there’s nothing like a real gingerbread house to get you in the holiday spirit. A Space Christmas Eve
Spending Christmas Eve at Space is just like any other silent night. Except you might be imbibing your favorite adult beverage while dancing next to (or with?!) a complete stranger and neither of you can hear other thanks to the incessant bass beats of the world’s hottest dance music.
