Halloween in Miami is prime celebration time, especially if you’re looking for over-the-top Halloween parties. You know the kind: an Event with a capital “e.” A venue that’s memorable in its own right, decorations worthy of Instagram, guests who put their best costumes forward, gourmet eats and generously poured drinks.
For an evening that’s equal parts scary and stylish, here are the five hottest Halloween parties that Miami is planning for 2017:
When it comes to local haunts, no address stacks up to the Biltmore, the Coral Gables historic landmark. Ghost stories abound about guests who checked into the top-ranked luxury hotel…but never checked out.
The Biltmore embraces its haunted history every Halloween with a swanky soiree in its poolside Country Club Ballroom. Tickets start at $110, and that buys you an evening of entertainment and access to a dinner buffet and open bar. Dress appropriately and take home a prize for most creative costume, spookiest get-up or best couples attire.
This year the fancy fun begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27. For more information, go here.
A guaranteed sell-out, the annual Miami Nice Halloween Yacht Party takes place aboard the South Beach Lady, a 125-foot, multimillion-dollar vessel, which will play host to 350 guests who each pay $65 for general boarding and, if they choose, an additional $1,000 for bottle service and a table.
The four-level South Beach Lady features indoor/outdoor seating, climate control in all areas of the yacht, cash bars on every deck, a DJ sky booth and eight flat-screen televisions.
Miami Nice embarks from Bayfront Park at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 and returns at 4 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29. For more information, go here.

One of Miami’s longest-running Halloween celebrations enlivens Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, the historic waterfront villa south of downtown.
Now in its 31st year, Vizcaya’s Halloween Sundowner features three stages of live music, a highly competitive costume contest with celebrity judges, a breathtakingly baroque setting and roughly 1,000 guests.
Party proceeds benefit the preservation of Vizcaya’s National Historic Landmark buildings and gardens. Tickets start at $170, but you get a break on price if you buy as a group.
The celebration comes to life at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. For more information, go here.
Wynwood Fear Factory is a leading contender in the competition for Largest Halloween Weekend Experience in the Southeast, thanks to its 140,000-square-foot venue: the old RC Cola Plant, abandoned in the mid-1990s and reinvigorated in recent years as an outdoor art gallery and filming location.
Over two days — Saturday, Oct. 28 and Sunday, Oct. 29 — attendees will enjoy DJ sets and live music, art installations, and haunted attractions, and food trucks and adult beverages. Bonus: the Fear Factory is located within Wynwood, Miami’s trendiest neighborhood.
Two-day general admission tickets start at $100.
“A Horror Story” will unfold on Halloween night at Boca Raton’s Addison resort, the popular wedding venue designed by famed architect Addison Mizner in 1926.
Benefiting Slow Burn Theatre Company at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Halloween at the Addison returns after a successful first outing last year.
Tickets start at $100 and include admission, live entertainment, food, craft cocktails, themed rooms and a haunted walk-through.
The party starts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. For more information, go here.
